Understanding mental health at work
In this course, we want to introduce you to a way of thinking about mental health and mental illness that may be different to how you've thought about it before.
We’ll cover some of the personal and environmental factors that work together to influence our mental health and make us more or less vulnerable to developing mental illness. Then, we’ll debunk some of the myths about mental illness and provide you with a good understanding of workplace support, the impact of stigma, and legal duties when it comes to mental health at work.

- Recognise the difference between mental health, flourishing, languishing and mental illness
- Outline the factors that can influence our mental health
- Identify the common myths about mental illness, the effects of stigma and the impact of discrimination
