Description
Spotting signs of concern
In this course we focus on SPOT, the first part of our SNAPS process. Poor mental health and mental illness involve significant changes in how a person thinks, feels (emotionally and physically), and/or behaves.
This course will help you to understand the changes to be concerned about, and how to spot them.
Objectives
Learning goals across the course:
- Recognise the signs of concern to look out for
- Identify your role in looking after others
- Describe the two core models for spotting signs of concern: Te Whare Tapa Whā, and the Cognitive-Behavioural Model
- Demonstrate the key skill of knowing when to be concerned
- Clarify where to go for more information on mental illness
