Self care and resilience
It's not uncommon for strong emotions to show up in ourselves when we are helping a team member who has been struggling.
This course aims to equip you with some techniques and strategies for dealing with these emotions, understanding your own stress response, and how to spot some of your early warning signs of stress.
Objectives
Learning goals across the course:
- Define stress and describe how stress is related to physical reactions, thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.
- Identify some of the key reasons why we get stressed
- Recognise the common signs and symptoms of work-related stress, and what it might look like for you
- Put into practice some skills and techniques for managing your emotions and recovering well
